Elric——米歇爾·摩爾科克的小說《Elric of Melniboné》

Ningauble—— FritzLeiber的小說《Tales of Fafhrd and theGray Mouser 》

Leomund,Fizban, Magius, 和Dalamar——《龍與地下城》

Sargon——薩爾貢法師(Sargon the Sorcerer)，DC英雄

其餘名字都源於約翰·羅納德·瑞爾·托爾金的 “中土神話小說” ：《精靈寶鑽》和《指環王》

他說： “You know, I think I've seen a portal like that before, but it was gold.(你明白的，我以前見過像這樣的門，但是那是金色的。)” 可能指的是舊日軍團的傳送門和罐子裡的金幣門。
